We started All Day Doh the way many good things begin: gathered around the kitchen table, covered in flour, with kids laughing (and maybe a little bit of doh in someone’s hair). What began as a simple family hobby—making doh together, creating silly color names, and turning playtime into bonding time—grew into something so much bigger.

We realized this wasn’t just about play. It was about connection.

As a stay-at-home mom post-pandemic, I was looking for ways to light up my kids’ days beyond the screen. Like so many families, we’d been through a lot—distance learning, constant uncertainty, and the loss of normal childhood rhythms. My husband was serving in the Navy, gone for 11 months, and while he was away earning his MBA, I was here trying to find joy in the small things again. That’s when we turned to the doh.

And the doh delivered.

What started as a family recipe passed down by Nana—now perfected over 30 years—became a calming ritual, a creative outlet, and, honestly, a form of therapy. As someone with ADHD and a big heart for mental health advocacy, I found peace in the squish, swirl, and scent of sensory play. And I watched it do the same for my kids. That’s when we knew… more people need this.
